How To Get More Appointments On The Phone

Would it be ok if I took a moment to talk to you about getting appointments with new prospects over the phone?

The first step in building a new relationship with a qualified lead is to find a time to be able to deliver your message.

Most people have experienced rejection when trying to get appointments with new prospects on the phone. But some people know the way to have more success and get more appointments.

The tips below will help you turn your time into profits by getting appointments by phone efficiently and easily:

1. Maintain Focus

Avoid distractions and interruptions which can bother you during calls. You want to give your prospective client your full attention, just as if they were with you in the office. Set aside time to call the prospective client(s) and make sure other people know you’re unavailable for that time. If you’ll be calling multiple prospects, dedicate a block of 60 or 90 minutes and then take a break. This will ensure you maintain focus while on the phone.

2. Know Who You’re Calling

Make sure you know exactly who you’re calling. If you’re calling a business client, double check the name and role of the person you’ll be speaking to. Have a good understanding of their business and industry so that you’re able to answer any questions which arise.

3. Know What You Want To Say

Be confident with your message. Know what you’re offering the client and craft a message which delivers that information quickly and concisely. Develop a script, or at very least some important talking points, and stick to them.

4. Be Polite And Direct

Let them know the reason you’re calling, as well as how you believe you can help them. Your reason for calling is not to talk about your service, but to address their needs and help them solve a problem. There is no need to force your message, but you do need to get to the point quickly to keep them interested.  

Attempt to engage them instantly with a quick story about how booking an appointment with you can resolve their problems.

5. Bring Energy

If you deliver your message with energy, your prospect will be more likely to engage with you than if you sound bored or flat. If you’re not excited about the call, then why would they be?
