Give up? Procrastination killing your business?

Procrastination does not mean our team members gave up on their dreams.

When our team members procrastinate, let's not treat the symptoms.

Instead, let's look at the core problem.

Procrastination, or lack of motivation to take action, can come from several causes. Here are the two most common causes:

  1. They fear that they don't know what to say or do, so they wait.
  2. They fear an unsuccessful outcome. That could mean rejection.

So, what should we do?

If they don't know what to say and do, then we should teach them skills. That will make sure they don't get rejection.

When they fear an unsuccessful outcome, then we should work with their mindset and expectations.

As their leader/owner, our obligation is to help our team members learn what they don't know, so they can reach their dreams.

Prospects won’t make a decision? Try these questions.

  1. What will happen if you don’t fix this problem?
  2. What do you think will happen next year if you decide not to make any changes this year with your investments?
  3. You don’t have to make a decision to start your pension tonight. Instead, you could simply make a decision to not start your pension and wait for the state pension?

All of these questions remind our prospects that the pain of their problems won’t go away by procrastinating a decision.

Where do we find top performers for our business?

Do we think the top performers found a secret Amazon tribe of prospects destined to become top clients?

And ordinary Advisors found all the losers by chance?

Not likely. So, what is the truth?

Both the top performers and ordinary producing Advisors recruit from the same pool of prospects. Most leaders are not born. We develop leaders from ordinary people that we coach.

Of course, that means that ordinary people don’t look like leaders when we employ them. We have to put in the work to help them develop.

Readers are leaders.

Why? Because we have gone as far as we can … with what we know now.

If we want to go further, we have to learn new things.
